Spectators: 7526 (Terracing: 5645, Seating: 1731, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Kev Foley started the match with the kick off. Jo Ford received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. Lawrence Moss tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 5 minutes, Jimmy Ramsden managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Perivale FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jimmy Ramsden was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Kev Foley received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Alistair Peat tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Carlton Emmerson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alistair Peat came out of the goal in the 15th minute to try and stop a shot by Long Hanborough AFC's Neil Young. But to his dismay, Neil Young quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After a rather tough play, Perivale FC's Vernon Butterfield got a free kick in the 23rd minute. When the match clock showed 24 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Kev Foley sped through Perivale FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Alistair Peat. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kev Foley in the 31st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alistair Peat saved Perivale FC from getting behind. In the 36th minute Jo Ford shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lawrence Moss saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Simon Campbell came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Perivale FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Simon Campbell couldn't finish the play. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jo Ford to strike the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Perivale FC's zone, Neil Young stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alistair Peat came out of the goal and Neil Young tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Perivale FC getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Vernon Butterfield hit a great ball. Neil Young struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Alistair Peat didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Long Hanborough AFC. When Kev Foley came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Long Hanborough AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kev Foley couldn't finish the play. In the 62nd minute, Neil Young ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alistair Peat was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Perivale FC's Alistair Peat proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 67th minute of the match, managed to save Perivale FC from getting a goal against them. In the 67th minute, Simon Campbell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Perivale FC getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. John-Paul Spacey hit a great ball. Neil Young sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alistair Peat made an important save on a dangerous shot by Neil Young in the 72nd minute. Long Hanborough AFC's Kev Foley got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kev Foley recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alistair Peat stood somewhat misplaced when Kev Foley came free in front of goal and shot 0-4 to the left of him in the 81 minute. Neil Young received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Alistair Peat tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 85th minute, Neil Young had to be helped off the field due to a pulled leg muscle. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Josh Newlyn during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 86 played minutes Perivale FC got a freekick which was hit by Josh Newlyn. Jimmy Ramsden struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Lawrence Moss didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Perivale FC. Carlton Emmerson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Long Hanborough AFC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
