Orson Rusby charged in rather forcefully in the 4th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Orson Rusby the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, RexFox's Orson Rusby got a free kick in the 4th minute. Rhys Wedlock who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 11thth minute tested the skills of Theo Myers when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Orson Rusby struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Theo Myers didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for RexFox. 16 minutes into the game, RexFox's Rhys Wedlock nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Theo Myers made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. In the 20th minute, Victor Markinson got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rhys Wedlock fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Theo Myers having to interfere. Victor Markinson blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Matty Charles having to make a save. Shane Winterbine hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. 31 minutes into the match, RexFox's goal looked a bit too open when Steven Tyson came free, but Matty Charles reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of RexFox booed when Nottingham Rovers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Steven Tyson didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot by John Riley from long distance, 35 minutes into the match, got Theo Myers's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Matty Charles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victor Markinson in the 39th minute of the match. A collision led to Nottingham Rovers getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Victor Markinson hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rhys Wedlock got free with Theo Myers in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Shane Winterbine struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Theo Myers didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for RexFox. If Shane Winterbine had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rhys Wedlock stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Nottingham Rovers's Theo Myers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rhys Wedlock in the 53rd minute of play. After some careless play in the Nottingham Rovers defense, Shane Winterbine kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Theo Myers. The Nottingham Rovers fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Theo Myers should have stopped the shot. In the 65thth minute of the game Rhys Wedlock who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Nottingham Rovers's Theo Myers was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rhys Wedlock in the 66th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Theo Myers saved Nottingham Rovers from getting behind. In the 68th minute, Rhys Wedlock ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Theo Myers was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. In the 73rd minute, Victor Markinson fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Matty Charles, passed just outside the right post. Theo Myers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rhys Wedlock, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Theo Myers didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Rhys Wedlock went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 6-0 was the resulting score. Shane Winterbine sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rhys Wedlock in the 88th minute of play forced Nottingham Rovers's goalkeeper Theo Myers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 94th minute Steven Tyson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Matty Charles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in RexFox's zone, Stefan Campbell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Matty Charles came out of the goal and Stefan Campbell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The RexFox fans cheered their team off the field, for while Nottingham Rovers had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
