Spectators: 6550 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 50) Thatto Heath United's Alastair Nevin started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd match minute, Thatto Heath United was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Max Haxby to maneuver through the defense. Alastair Nevin's late challenge caught a Cranbrook AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alastair Nevin helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Thatto Heath United getting a freekick after 5 minutes play. Alastair Nevin hit a great ball. Carl Henry received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Glyn Titmus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 9th minute, Bill Broom got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Alastair Nevin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Al Coton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 14th minute, Joel Hewitt hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Shane Coburn in the 17th minute of play forced Thatto Heath United's goalkeeper Glyn Titmus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 18 minutes of play, Thatto Heath United's Alastair Nevin made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Al Coton was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 24th minute Bill Broom shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Al Coton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Shane Coburn fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Glyn Titmus having to interfere. In the 38th minute Alastair Nevin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Al Coton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Al Coton came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Thatto Heath United's Bill Broom. But to his dismay, Bill Broom quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. A collision led to Thatto Heath United getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Bill Broom hit a great ball. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

In the 53rd minute Carl Henry shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Glyn Titmus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 57 minutes, Alastair Nevin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Thatto Heath United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alastair Nevin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Bill Broom managed to get in a good position for a shot. Thatto Heath United's supporters rose to their feet, but Bill Broom was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Al Coton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 69 minutes into the match, Cranbrook AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Alastair Nevin came free, but Al Coton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 71stth minute of the game Alastair Nevin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cranbrook AFC's Al Coton was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 79 minutes into the match, Cranbrook AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Alastair Nevin came free, but Al Coton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bill Broom fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Al Coton having to interfere. Al Coton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alastair Nevin in the 82nd minute of play. Glyn Titmus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shane Coburn in the 87th minute of the match. In the 97th minute, Max Haxby hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the final whistle sounded Thatto Heath United left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Cranbrook AFC.
