Calvin Broadhurst ran back to his position shaking his head. Victoria United's Rowan Cross played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Morris in the 10th minute of play. After 11 minutes, Austin Leadbeater mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Victoria United and the Appleshaw players grew even worse after the yellow card. Austin Leadbeater kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Phillip Dunlop charged in rather forcefully in the 16th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Phillip Dunlop the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 16 minutes into the game, one of Appleshaw:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. If Alex Morris had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rowan Cross made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex Morris in the 24th minute of play. If Archie Gilchrist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Through an outstanding action, after 28 minutes, Jack Rocastle successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Marlon Currie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jack Rocastle having to interfere. The wind increased when Marlon Currie made the kick off in the second half. Frank Sharpe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Alex Morris who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 69thth minute tested the skills of Rowan Cross when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Marlon Currie sent away a hard shot on goal in the 70th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 76 minutes into the match, Victoria United's Archie Gilchrist sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jack Rocastle narrowly saved just below the crossbar.
