Rowan Cross was left in no man's land by his defense there! Daryl Mills's late challenge caught a 1878 Red Devils United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The supporters of 1878 Red Devils United booed when Victoria United was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daryl Mills didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carolo Aguilar scored 0-3 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rowan Cross, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carolo Aguilar in the 35th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rowan Cross saved Victoria United from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carolo Aguilar in the 42nd minute of play forced Victoria United's goalkeeper Rowan Cross to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Archie Gilchrist came up free with the goalie in the 48th minute, the Victoria United fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Archie Gilchrist couldn't finish the play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Archie Gilchrist stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With his leg Rowan Cross managed to avoid a goal in the 92ndth minute, when 1878 Red Devils United's Jordi Morera fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Jordi Morera fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rowan Cross having to interfere.
