Lincoln City's Sonny Giugno played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vic Beaver in the 26th minute of play. In the 27thth minute of the game Vic Beaver who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lincoln City's Sonny Giugno was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sonny Giugno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivan Croyden in the 28th minute of play. James Schofield kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Sonny Giugno came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by manchester city's Vic Beaver. But to his dismay, Vic Beaver quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lincoln City's goalkeeper Sonny Giugno, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Lincoln City's zone, Ivan Croyden stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sonny Giugno came out of the goal and Ivan Croyden tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vic Beaver to strike the kick off in the second half. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 58th minute of the game. One of manchester city:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Lincoln City:s goal. Sonny Giugno stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Vic Beaver's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Sonny Giugno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vic Beaver in the 72nd minute of play. If Albert Sills had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 78 minutes into the match, Vic Beaver dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Sonny Giugno, 1-5. Ivan Croyden recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Vic Beaver received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Sonny Giugno tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sonny Giugno made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Ivan Croyden sent off a good shot on target. Johnnie Boland received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute. Alfie Clark tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. manchester city's Vic Beaver was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 94th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Simon Craddock struck a weak shot in the 99th minute. Sonny Giugno didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for manchester city. manchester city's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
