Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Kristian Radcliffe took the kick off in the first half of the match. Kristian Radcliffe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Mitch Basham tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marty Colbert's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Mitch Basham read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. Kristian Radcliffe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Mitch Basham tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Marty Colbert managed to get in a good position for a shot. New Haw FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Marty Colbert was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Mitch Basham breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mitch Basham made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marty Colbert in the 24th minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, Clapham's goal looked a bit too open when Marty Colbert came free, but Mitch Basham reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 30 minutes, Nicholas Nottingham mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Clapham and the New Haw FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 30 played minutes Clapham got a freekick which was hit by Nicholas Nottingham. 32 minutes into the match, Clapham's goal looked a bit too open when Kristian Radcliffe came free, but Mitch Basham reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. New Haw FC's Marty Colbert got a good chance for a goal in the 33rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kristian Radcliffe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Mitch Basham tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet as Clapham's Nicholas Nottingham slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Doug Arrowsmith. That made the score 1-0 after 38 minutes of play. In the 44th minute Kristian Radcliffe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mitch Basham saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Nicholas Nottingham to strike the kick off in the second half. Marty Colbert struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Mitch Basham didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for New Haw FC. After a rather tough play, Clapham's Nicholas Nottingham got a free kick in the 54th minute. In the 59th minute Kristian Radcliffe shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mitch Basham saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Kristian Radcliffe struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Mitch Basham didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for New Haw FC. If Marty Colbert had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Marty Colbert fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mitch Basham having to interfere. Marty Colbert received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Mitch Basham tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kristian Radcliffe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee blew the final whistle, Clapham could leave the field as winners, despite New Haw FC having more of the ball for most of the match.
