Vic Legg sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Phil Joynes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bobby Stride having to interfere. Den Shilton kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Quentin Strongman recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Petersfield were awarded a corner in the 31th minute after Clapham AFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Grant Turner took the corner. The supporters of Petersfield booed when Clapham AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Quentin Strongman didn't get a good kick on the ball. 33 minutes into the game, Petersfield's Vic Legg nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bobby Stride made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After having played for 40 minutes, Phil Joynes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Petersfield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Phil Joynes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Todd Lee-Barrett might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bobby Stride. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Todd Lee-Barrett ran back to his position shaking his head. Bobby Stride took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Todd Lee-Barrett, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Connor Cross received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Richard Shepherd tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Vic Legg made the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Todd Lee-Barrett cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Bobby Stride was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Vic Legg in the 57thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Bobby Stride, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Phil Joynes charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Phil Joynes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Phil Joynes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bobby Stride having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Clapham AFC's Quentin Strongman got a free kick in the 66th minute. Todd Lee-Barrett's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 67thth minute, Bobby Stride skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When Quentin Strongman came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Clapham AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Quentin Strongman couldn't finish the play. 76 minutes into the match, Clapham AFC's goalkeeper Bobby Stride had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vic Legg. Bobby Stride was out of position in the 82 minute of play, and Lloyd Norfolk capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Lloyd Norfolk really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. Lloyd Norfolk fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bobby Stride having to interfere. Petersfield's Vic Legg got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Todd Lee-Barrett sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Richard Shepherd showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Quentin Strongman in the 96th minute of the match. When the final whistle sounded Petersfield left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Clapham AFC.
