Brad Mortimer stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Blair Niven's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. 15 minutes in the game Garry Harrison did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Billie Basterfield. With a little luck, South Benfleet United's Dylan Cheswick got control of the ball when Billie Basterfield tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Johnny Beverley in the 20th minute of play forced South Benfleet United's goalkeeper Dylan Cheswick to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ed Power fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brad Mortimer having to interfere. Blair Niven blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Brad Mortimer having to make a save. 27 minutes into the match, South Benfleet United's Ed Power sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Brad Mortimer narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Blair Niven fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brad Mortimer having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Ed Power managed to get in a good position for a shot. South Benfleet United's supporters rose to their feet, but Ed Power was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brad Mortimer breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kyle Orchard during the 45th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 45th match minute, West Ham United FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kyle Orchard to maneuver through the defense. In the 47th minute, Ed Power hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After the first half South Benfleet United were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

With a couple of smart ball manuevers Blair Niven in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Brad Mortimer saved West Ham United FC from getting behind. Ed Power struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Brad Mortimer didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for South Benfleet United. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind West Ham United FC's goalkeeper Brad Mortimer, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Blair Niven managed to get in a good position for a shot. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Dylan Cheswick made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kyle Orchard in the 62nd minute of play. 65 minutes into the match, West Ham United FC's goal looked a bit too open when Blair Niven came free, but Brad Mortimer reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. South Benfleet United's Dylan Cheswick played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Johnny Singleton in the 68th minute of play. In the 71st minute, Damion Nethercott got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 77 minutes into the match, West Ham United FC's goalkeeper Brad Mortimer had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Blair Niven. 79 minutes into the match, South Benfleet United's goal looked a bit too open when Johnny Beverley came free, but Dylan Cheswick reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Brad Mortimer showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ed Power, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Through an outstanding action, after 81 minutes, Brad Mortimer successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Dylan Cheswick showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Johnny Beverley in the 82nd minute of the match. If Ed Power had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dylan Cheswick made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johnny Beverley in the 90th minute of play. Brad Mortimer came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by South Benfleet United's Blair Niven. But to his dismay, Blair Niven quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. The West Ham United FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. South Benfleet United were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
