Nicholas Bettinson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Chris Newell in the 17th minute of the match. In the 20th minute Colin Corrigan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Miller saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Colin Corrigan came up free with the goalie in the 23rd minute, the FC Huntingdon fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Colin Corrigan couldn't finish the play. Aaron Shepherd fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicholas Bettinson having to interfere. Aaron Shepherd sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Guernsey's Daniel Miller played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Colin Corrigan in the 29th minute of play. If Chris Newell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in FC Huntingdon's zone, Aaron Shepherd stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicholas Bettinson came out of the goal and Aaron Shepherd tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of FC Huntingdon booed when Guernsey was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Karl Webster didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 39 played minutes Guernsey got a freekick which was hit by Gwyn Devine. FC Huntingdon's Colin Corrigan got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Chris Newell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 43 minutes into the match, Aaron Shepherd had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nicholas Bettinson. FC Huntingdon's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aaron Shepherd was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Aaron Shepherd fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nicholas Bettinson having to interfere. The FC Huntingdon players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Guernsey were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Colin Corrigan to make the kick off. In the 53rd match minute, Guernsey was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Karl Webster to maneuver through the defense. 55 minutes into the match, FC Huntingdon's goalkeeper Nicholas Bettinson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Chris Newell. After a defensive mix-up in FC Huntingdon's zone, Aaron Shepherd stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nicholas Bettinson came out of the goal and Aaron Shepherd tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 65th minute, Guernsey's Aaron Shepherd dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. When Guernsey's Aaron Shepherd in the 69th minute got a chance for a shot 69th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Nicholas Bettinson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 74 minutes into the match, FC Huntingdon's goal looked a bit too open when Aaron Shepherd came free, but Nicholas Bettinson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Chris Newell succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-4 in the 75th playminute. Daniel Miller showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brendon Brewer in the 79th minute of the match. Chris Newell's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 82ndth minute, Nicholas Bettinson skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When Aaron Shepherd came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Guernsey fans jumped to their feet. In the 90th minute, Karl Webster hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 92 minutes of play, FC Huntingdon's Colin Corrigan made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Daniel Miller was left in no man's land by his defense there! Daniel Miller showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Brendon Brewer in the 97th minute of the match. When the match was over Guernsey could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than FC Huntingdon throughout the match.
