If Ashley Simms had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 14 played minutes Alderley Edge AFC got a freekick which was hit by Grant Beecham. Blair Gower struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Carl Litchfield didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chugga FC. Benjamin Hayles's late challenge caught a Alderley Edge AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Russ King showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gary Lamb, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 27th minute Gary Lamb shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Russ King saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Grant Bromley didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gary Lamb in the 32nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Russ King saved Chugga FC from getting behind. Mike Mills hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. After having played for 36 minutes, Gary Lamb managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Alderley Edge AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gary Lamb was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 37 played minutes Chugga FC got a freekick which was hit by Rupert Blake. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Ashley Simms managed to get in a good position for a shot. Chugga FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Ashley Simms was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carl Litchfield breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 45th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chugga FC's goalkeeper Russ King, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gary Lamb to make the kick off. In the 53rd match minute, Alderley Edge AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denis Bass to maneuver through the defense. Ashley Simms didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 1-1 via right post in the game's 57th minute. Chugga FC's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! Russ King took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rich Hird, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gary Lamb took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Russ King. Russ King dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. Keiran Le Tissier hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Ashley Simms's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 85thth minute, Carl Litchfield skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 92nd match minute, Alderley Edge AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kenny Waite to maneuver through the defense. In the 96th match minute, Chugga FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Keiran Le Tissier to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Alderley Edge AFC had won after a very even match.
