Vince Piercy was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Southall's Duncan Whittingham got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cliff Stockdale during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Cliff Stockdale hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. In the 21st play minute CJ Dry came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Vince Piercy. 3-0. A hard shot 24 in the game by Duncan Whittingham from a close distance when the talented Vince Piercy managed to make a qualified save. South Shields's players were relieved. The supporters of South Shields booed when Southall was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Damion Stockdale didn't get a good kick on the ball. CJ Dry sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dom Miller charged in rather forcefully in the 34th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dom Miller the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 35 played minutes, Southall's Wesley Lydiate shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Vince Piercy came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Southall reached it. The referee felt a red card was in order, 37 minutes into the game, when Johnnie Holland put in a rough tackle. The supporters of Southall booed when South Shields was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Johnnie Holland didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vince Piercy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Wesley Lydiate, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Southall fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. Vince Piercy showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from CJ Dry, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 74th minute, Wesley Lydiate managed to get in a good position for a shot. Southall's supporters rose to their feet, but Wesley Lydiate was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vince Piercy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Vince Piercy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wesley Lydiate in the 76th minute of the match. 79 minutes into the match, South Shields's goal looked a bit too open when CJ Dry came free, but Vince Piercy reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. South Shields's Vince Piercy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by CJ Dry in the 81st minute of play. Damion Stockdale struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Vince Piercy didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Southall. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Southall had won after a very even match.
