Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Alfred Bacon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfred Laycock in the 4th minute of play. If Alfred Laycock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A hard shot 6 in the game by James Medlin from a close distance when the talented Alfred Bacon managed to make a qualified save. Launceston's players were relieved. After having played for 8 minutes, Alfred Laycock managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Golcar City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfred Laycock was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Teddy Chegwyn, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 11 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Ty Ridgeway was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. 16 minutes into the match, Alfred Laycock had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alfred Bacon. Launceston's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Alfred Laycock was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Launceston's Alfred Bacon proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 21st minute of the match, managed to save Launceston from getting a goal against them. James Medlin's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 24thth minute, Alfred Bacon skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alfred Laycock in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alfred Bacon saved Launceston from getting behind. Teddy Chegwyn sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alfred Laycock in the 37th minute of play forced Launceston's goalkeeper Alfred Bacon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. James Medlin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Alfred Bacon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Alfred Laycock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The wind increased when Alfred Laycock made the kick off in the second half. James Medlin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Alfred Bacon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alfred Laycock recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Launceston were furious when Danny Tetley was red carded, 60 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 60th minute, one of Launceston:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Launceston. The referee gave Golcar City a penalty, 62 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Dom Wells, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Launceston's Alfred Bacon. 3-0. The audience was convinced that James Medlin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alfred Bacon was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. Alfred Laycock received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Alfred Bacon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alfred Bacon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of James Medlin's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Steven Lee-Barrett during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Steven Lee-Barrett hit a great freekick 84 minutes into the match. In the 87th minute Alfred Laycock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfred Bacon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Golcar City had played much better football throughout.
