Archie Mullen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 15 minutes into the match, Stinging Nettles's goal looked a bit too open when Terry Draper came free, but Archie Mullen reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 17 minutes into the match, Hockley City's Al Lowe sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Archie Mullen narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Edward Manson hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Terry Draper received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Archie Mullen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Al Lowe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Archie Mullen took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Terry Draper, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Francis Deeney fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Malcolm Mabbutt having to interfere. When the match had gone on for 37 minutes, Francis Deeney put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Malcolm Mabbutt. Malcolm Mabbutt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Francis Deeney in the 41st minute of play. Al Lowe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Archie Mullen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hockley City's Malcolm Mabbutt played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Francis Deeney in the 48th minute of play.

After 52 played minutes, Hockley City's Louie Darko shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Archie Mullen came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Hockley City reached it. If Al Lowe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Terry Draper took the ball and in the 58 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Archie Mullen. Archie Mullen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. In the 60th minute, Al Lowe left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hockley City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. Archie Mullen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Al Lowe in the 64th minute of the match. Terry Draper's late challenge caught a Stinging Nettles's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Terry Draper helped the player get up and apologised. In the 65th match minute, Hockley City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Terry Draper to maneuver through the defense. Stinging Nettles's Archie Mullen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Terry Draper in the 70th minute of play. After 71 played minutes Stinging Nettles got a freekick which was hit by Dean Ambrose. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Nial Cusack managed to get in a good position for a shot. Stinging Nettles's supporters rose to their feet, but Nial Cusack was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Malcolm Mabbutt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to Hockley City getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Edward Manson hit a great ball. In the 85thth minute of the game Francis Deeney who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Hockley City's Malcolm Mabbutt was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Malcolm Mabbutt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Francis Deeney in the 90th minute of the match. In the 93rd minute, Al Lowe got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Archie Mullen showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Terry Draper in the 95th minute of the match. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Hockley City were victorious despite being under pressure from Stinging Nettles for much of the match.
