Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Alfred Laycock started the match with the kick off. When Jonny Benbow fell near the penalty area in the 2nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Golcar City's protests and gave Jonny Benbow a yellow card for diving instead. Jonny Benbow hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. A collision led to Hockley City getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Perry Osbon hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alfred Laycock in the 6th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Malcolm Mabbutt prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 10th minute Alfred Laycock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Malcolm Mabbutt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Hockley City defense, Alfred Laycock kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Malcolm Mabbutt. The Hockley City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Malcolm Mabbutt should have stopped the shot. Terry Draper recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 16th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 1-1 became the score in the 19th minute when Terry Draper elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Al Lowe could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Ty Ridgeway made a huge save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Terry Draper in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ty Ridgeway prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 31stth minute of the game Terry Draper who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Golcar City's Ty Ridgeway was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When James Medlin came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Golcar City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that James Medlin couldn't finish the play. 36 minutes into the match, Hockley City's goal looked a bit too open when Alfred Laycock came free, but Malcolm Mabbutt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Malcolm Mabbutt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from James Medlin in the 39th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Terry Draper in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ty Ridgeway saved Golcar City from getting behind. Bruce Beckett's late challenge caught a Hockley City's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bruce Beckett helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Golcar City's Bruce Beckett got a free kick in the 47th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Terry Draper stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Al Lowe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Ty Ridgeway tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 56th match minute, Golcar City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pete Nelson to maneuver through the defense. Ty Ridgeway took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Terry Draper, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Al Lowe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Golcar City's zone, Terry Draper stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ty Ridgeway came out of the goal and Terry Draper tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ty Ridgeway took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Al Lowe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Terry Draper's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ty Ridgeway was relentless in the 67th minute of the game. Terry Draper received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Ty Ridgeway tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 92nd match minute, Golcar City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Steven Lee-Barrett to maneuver through the defense. In the 95th minute, James Medlin made a precise shot to the right of Malcolm Mabbutt. Hockley City's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. The Hockley City supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Golcar City's performance. The match ended with a win for Golcar City.
