When Francis Deeney came up free with the goalie in the 16th minute, the Stinging Nettles fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francis Deeney couldn't finish the play. Alex Corby showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francis Deeney, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Archie Mullen had great luck who in the 21stth minute grab hold of the ball when Joshua Scholes from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. When Liam Thompson fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Comberton AFC's protests and gave Liam Thompson a yellow card for diving instead. Liam Thompson hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. After 28 played minutes Comberton AFC got a freekick which was hit by Joshua Scholes. After some fancy dribbling in the 31st minute, Joshua Scholes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Archie Mullen breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alex Corby came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Stinging Nettles's Francis Deeney. But to his dismay, Francis Deeney quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Francis Deeney sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Francis Deeney was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Stinging Nettles booed when Comberton AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Phil Currie didn't get a good kick on the ball. Comberton AFC's Alex Corby proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Comberton AFC from getting a goal against them. When the final whistle sounded Stinging Nettles left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Comberton AFC.
