Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Simon Crtichell kicked off to start the match. 6 minutes into the match, Saltash's goal looked a bit too open when Alfred Laycock came free, but Alan Meechan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Saltash's Alan Meechan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfred Laycock in the 8th minute of play. The supporters of Golcar City booed when Saltash was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Keiran Driver didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alan Meechan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfred Laycock in the 10th minute of the match. Keiran Driver sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Alfred Laycock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 19th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Alan Meechan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alfred Laycock, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. After 27 played minutes Saltash got a freekick which was hit by Keiran Driver. Golcar City's Dom Wells couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 27th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Saltash. 34 minutes into the game, Golcar City's James Medlin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alan Meechan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling James Medlin in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alan Meechan prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 41 minutes, Alfred Laycock managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Golcar City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfred Laycock was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 42nd minute, Keiran Driver hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 45 played minutes Saltash got a freekick which was hit by Fraser Midgley. Golcar City were awarded a corner in the 48th minute after Saltash's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Dom Wells took the corner. Golcar City's Dom Wells was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Alan Meechan in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After the first half Golcar City were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Alfred Laycock was the one to do the kick off. Marlon Snowdon kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. In the 53rd minute Freddie Fox suffered a knee injury and had to be helped off the field. When Alfred Laycock came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Golcar City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfred Laycock couldn't finish the play. When Alfred Laycock fell near the penalty area in the 53rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Golcar City's protests and gave Alfred Laycock a yellow card for diving instead. James Medlin struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Alan Meechan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Golcar City. Golcar City's Alfred Laycock got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alfred Laycock recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alfred Laycock fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alan Meechan having to interfere. When Alfred Laycock came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Golcar City fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfred Laycock couldn't finish the play. Alan Meechan stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Alfred Laycock's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. Alan Meechan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alfred Laycock, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. James Medlin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 85 minutes into the match, Saltash's goal looked a bit too open when Alfred Laycock came free, but Alan Meechan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Saltash's Alan Meechan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alfred Laycock in the 91st minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Alfred Laycock managed to get in a good position for a shot. Golcar City's supporters rose to their feet, but Alfred Laycock was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alan Meechan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Alfred Laycock's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alan Meechan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play. Golcar City's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
