The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Luke Barnett received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Gav Lewington tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bryan Dransfield in the 25thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Duncan Capes, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Austin Fry in the 26th minute of play forced Shrewsbury's goalkeeper Duncan Capes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Austin Fry sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jermaine Jones charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jermaine Jones the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Duo City getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 35 minutes, Bryan Dransfield managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Duo City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bryan Dransfield was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Duncan Capes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Austin Fry in the 38th minute of play. Bryan Dransfield took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Duncan Capes. Duncan Capes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. After having played for 44 minutes, Austin Fry managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Duo City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Austin Fry was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luke Barnett stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Duo City's goal looked a bit too open when Luke Barnett came free, but Gav Lewington reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luke Barnett struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Gav Lewington didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Shrewsbury. Will Littlechild kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Austin Fry fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duncan Capes having to interfere. Bryan Dransfield sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Bryan Dransfield succeeded in the game's 71st minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. If Bryan Dransfield had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Austin Fry, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 76 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Duncan Capes was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Duncan Capes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lewis Beverley, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 80 played minutes Shrewsbury got a freekick which was hit by Samuel Pritchard. Duncan Capes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Austin Fry, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. Austin Fry took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Duncan Capes. Duncan Capes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Shrewsbury's Duncan Capes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Austin Fry in the 92nd minute of play. After some careless play in the Shrewsbury defense, Bryan Dransfield kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Duncan Capes. The Shrewsbury fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Duncan Capes should have stopped the shot. When the referee ended the match the Duo City players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
