After 15 minutes of play, Flushing's Damon Osbourne made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Duncan Capes was left in no man's land by his defense there! 20 minutes into the match, Damon Osbourne had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Duncan Capes. Shrewsbury's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Damon Osbourne was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Zane Clement fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duncan Capes having to interfere. Zane Clement blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Duncan Capes having to make a save. Damon Osbourne received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Duncan Capes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zane Clement fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duncan Capes having to interfere. Zane Clement sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 47th match minute, Flushing was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vinnie Harris to maneuver through the defense. The Shrewsbury players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Flushing were winning 0-3.
