Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) After 5 played minutes Olly Claydon rounded Co Durham FC's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. The supporters of Upwell booed when Co Durham FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Andrew Batty didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jeffrey Mellon acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 11th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Nicky Addison. With an all-out effort, Upwell's Jeffrey Mellon threw himself towards the right post 14 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Dean Goodman, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 16 played minutes Co Durham FC got a freekick which was hit by Andrew Batty. In the 17th minute, Dean Goodman got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Upwell's Dean Goodman got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Co Durham FC booed when Upwell was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Olly Claydon didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Dean Goodman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Upwell's supporters rose to their feet, but Dean Goodman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jeffrey Mellon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Upwell's zone, Fraser Read stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ozzy Chilton came out of the goal and Fraser Read tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luke Pope who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 39thth minute tested the skills of Jeffrey Mellon when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Luke Pope had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeffrey Mellon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dean Goodman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Pedro Budden struck a weak shot in the 46th minute. Ozzy Chilton didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Co Durham FC. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Dean Goodman made the kick off in the second half. Pedro Budden sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Luke Pope had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 64th minute Dean Goodman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jeffrey Mellon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Olly Claydon kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Pedro Budden received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Ozzy Chilton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Co Durham FC's Jeffrey Mellon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luke Pope in the 78th minute of play. 81 minutes into the match, Co Durham FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dean Goodman came free, but Jeffrey Mellon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 86 minutes, Fraser Read managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Co Durham FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fraser Read was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Luke Pope scored 2-0 in the 97th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jeffrey Mellon, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Upwell's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
