Spectators: 7520 (Terracing: 5641, Seating: 1729, VIP seats: 150) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Kirk Rhodes took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 3rd minute Neil Law shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Beale saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mansfield Town's Glen Cornish got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 8th minute, Walter Hough hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Glen Cornish had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ollie Hallam sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Glen Cornish received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Dylan Button tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 15th match minute, Prescot FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vincent Spencer to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Kirk Rhodes's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dylan Button was relentless in the 17th minute of the game. In the 21stth minute of the game Glen Cornish who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Prescot FC's Dylan Button was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Prescot FC's Dylan Button played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Kirk Rhodes in the 22nd minute of play. Prescot FC's Matt Purvis got a good chance for a goal in the 27th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Damon Hallam hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. If Kirk Rhodes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mansfield Town's Kirk Rhodes got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Prescot FC getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Vincent Spencer hit a great ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Neil Law made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kirk Rhodes in the 56th minute of play forced Prescot FC's goalkeeper Dylan Button to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Glen Cornish kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. 62 minutes into the match, Barney Burns notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Prescot FC's Dylan Button. Dylan Button was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Mansfield Town's Glen Cornish got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Prescot FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 69th minute, when Kirk Rhodes scored to the left of an out of position Dylan Button, making the score, 0-2. If Glen Cornish had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Glen Cornish in the 81stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Dylan Button, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Ollie Hallam charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ollie Hallam the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Mansfield Town getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Ollie Hallam hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kirk Rhodes in the 91st minute of play forced Prescot FC's goalkeeper Dylan Button to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Glen Cornish recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 92nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Kirk Rhodes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Prescot FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Mansfield Town were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
