With an all-out effort, Kenilworth's Tony Cornish threw himself towards the right post 3 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Connor Munday, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Garry Devaney in the 10th minute of play forced Kenilworth's goalkeeper Sean Sutton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peter Kendall sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Lasham's Tony Cornish got control of the ball when Peter Kendall tried to sneak it across the goal line. Peter Kendall who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 21stth minute tested the skills of Tony Cornish when he managed to save the team from getting behind. 24 minutes in the game, Connor Munday fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Tony Cornish having to interfere. Peter Kendall's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Tony Cornish firmly grabbed it by the left post. 31 minutes into the game, Ralph Milton was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lasham's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Kenilworth the free kick. Tony Cornish was out of position in the 36 minute of play, and Connor Munday capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Connor Munday really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. When Peter Kendall came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Kenilworth fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Peter Kendall couldn't finish the play. Tony Cornish stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Connor Munday's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. 47 minutes into the match, Kenilworth's Peter Kendall sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tony Cornish narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Connor Munday stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Peter Kendall took the ball and in the 51 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tony Cornish. Tony Cornish dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Peter Kendall received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Tony Cornish tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Peter Kendall recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Peter Kendall sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Peter Kendall's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tony Cornish read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 70th minute of play. Connor Munday received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Tony Cornish tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 75th minute Peter Kendall shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tony Cornish saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Ralph Milton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Peter Kendall in the 85th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tony Cornish saved Lasham from getting behind. Ralph Milton kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. Connor Munday fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tony Cornish having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Connor Munday in the 92nd minute of play forced Lasham's goalkeeper Tony Cornish to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peter Kendall received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Tony Cornish tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
