Jamie Byrom fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sean Sutton having to interfere. If Barry Metcalfe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 26th of the match, Jamie Byrom tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Sean Sutton got in the way and made a wonderful save. Vern Slator made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Connor Munday in the 34th minute of play. Sean Sutton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jamie Byrom in the 38th minute of play. In the 40th match minute, ardeer rangers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brynn Brayford to maneuver through the defense. Kenilworth's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Basil Bradfield in the 43rd minute. The corner ended in Basil Bradfield almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but ardeer rangers's Vern Slator did a great save. After having played for 46 minutes, Barry Metcalfe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. ardeer rangers's supporters crossed their fingers, but Barry Metcalfe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jamie Byrom received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Sean Sutton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Connor Munday to make the kick off. Sean Sutton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Barry Metcalfe, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jamie Byrom fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sean Sutton having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Barry Metcalfe in the 63rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sean Sutton prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Joey Southgate during the 65th minute. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jamie Byrom helped the player get up and apologised. Kenilworth's supporters rose to their feet, but Connor Munday was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vern Slator breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Peter Kendall fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vern Slator having to interfere. ardeer rangers walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
