Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Ilfracombe AFC's Caleb Lancaster played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Howard Jump in the 4th minute of play. Kevin Gascoigne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gerry Bowland made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kevin Gascoigne in the 12th minute of play. Benjamin Tuck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jerome Porter hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Ilfracombe AFC's Benjamin Tuck got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Benjamin Tuck recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Kevin Gascoigne had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in The Myrmidons's zone, Benjamin Tuck stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gerry Bowland came out of the goal and Benjamin Tuck tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 31st minute, Kevin Gascoigne got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 41 minutes into the match, Ilfracombe AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Reg Jepson came free, but Caleb Lancaster reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Benjamin Tuck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Myrmidons's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Kevin Gascoigne 45 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kevin Gascoigne stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute, Howard Jump fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Caleb Lancaster, passed just outside the right post. If Benjamin Tuck had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ilfracombe AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Benjamin Tuck was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gerry Bowland breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 61st minute Jerome Porter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerry Bowland saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Ilfracombe AFC fans' excitement grew in the 62nd match minute when Ilfracombe AFC's Benjamin Tuck looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Will Blakeley's late challenge caught a Ilfracombe AFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Will Blakeley helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Ilfracombe AFC booed when The Myrmidons was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Will Blakeley didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gerry Bowland made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kevin Gascoigne in the 67th minute of play. Gerry Bowland showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kevin Gascoigne, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. Kevin Gascoigne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerry Bowland having to interfere. In the 72nd minute Benjamin Tuck shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerry Bowland saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kevin Gascoigne in the 78th minute of play forced The Myrmidons's goalkeeper Gerry Bowland to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the The Myrmidons defense, Kevin Gascoigne kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gerry Bowland. The The Myrmidons fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gerry Bowland should have stopped the shot. Gerry Bowland came out of the goal in the 86th minute to try and stop a shot by Ilfracombe AFC's Benjamin Tuck. But to his dismay, Benjamin Tuck quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. Benjamin Tuck fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gerry Bowland having to interfere. After 93 minutes, Simon Davenport mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the The Myrmidons and the Ilfracombe AFC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Gerry Bowland showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kevin Gascoigne in the 97th minute of the match.
