Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) STORM CITY's Austin Chandler started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When the match had gone on for 6 minutes, Graham Little took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Mike Nightingale to make any attempt to save it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Louie Carroll in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kirk McCormick saved Dolton City from getting behind. If Austin Chandler had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Andrew Clare fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mike Nightingale having to interfere. 17 minutes into the game, Graham Little recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Mike Nightingale. Graham Little showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. After 26 minutes, Austin Chandler made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Dolton City's Kirk McCormick tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Kirk McCormick showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Louie Carroll, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. In the 39th minute Louie Carroll shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kirk McCormick saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Dolton City defense, Louie Carroll kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kirk McCormick. The Dolton City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kirk McCormick should have stopped the shot. Andrew Clare came free with the goalkeeper in the 46th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Mike Nightingale could save by the left post. In the 48th minute, Andrew Clare got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The first half was very even, with the score at 2-2 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Graham Little was the one to do the kick off. Kirk McCormick made an important save on a dangerous shot by Louie Carroll in the 52nd minute. In the 58th minute Austin Chandler shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kirk McCormick saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, STORM CITY's Basil Cutts got a free kick in the 67th minute. STORM CITY's supporters rose to their feet, but Louie Carroll was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kirk McCormick breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The STORM CITY supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing STORM CITY would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
