Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Thomas Sharples started the match with the kick off. 5 minutes into the match, Thomas Sharples had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Stuart Langford. Crosby's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Thomas Sharples was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Kenny Upson struck a weak shot in the 8th minute. Lloyd Wells didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Crosby. Tony Coote was extremely unlucky when he, in the 13th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. After some careless play in the Daventry AFC defense, Kenny Upson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lloyd Wells. The Daventry AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lloyd Wells should have stopped the shot. Kenny Upson took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lloyd Wells. Lloyd Wells dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. After having played for 22 minutes, Kenny Upson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Crosby's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kenny Upson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tony Coote might have been able to make a better finish in the 23rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lloyd Wells. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tony Coote ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 24th match minute, Daventry AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Callum Hartson to maneuver through the defense. Tony Coote sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Daventry AFC getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Kenny Kenna hit a great ball. Kenny Upson made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 40thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Lloyd Wells would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tony Coote stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the match, Daventry AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Tony Coote came free, but Lloyd Wells reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 53 minutes of play, Crosby's Tony Coote made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Lloyd Wells was left in no man's land by his defense there! With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tony Coote in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lloyd Wells saved Daventry AFC from getting behind. Tony Coote sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Crosby's Den Beckford pulled a muscle in his leg after 63 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Richie Bakewell hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. A collision led to Crosby getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Austin Pryor hit a great ball. Kenny Upson struck a weak shot in the 77th minute. Lloyd Wells didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Crosby. In the 83rd minute Kenny Upson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lloyd Wells saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Kenny Upson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 95th match minute, Daventry AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gez Booth to maneuver through the defense.
