Danny Calder acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 6th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Trev Oatway. After a defensive mix-up in Leicester United's zone, Francis Ellerton stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Danny Calder came out of the goal and Francis Ellerton tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jeff Draper didn't miss a given chance and shot in short distance 1-0 via right post in the game's 9th minute. Ajax Fans Club's supporters showed their exhuberating excitement! 12 minutes into the match, Leicester United's goal looked a bit too open when Francis Ellerton came free, but Danny Calder reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jeff Draper received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Danny Calder tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 30th minute Francis Ellerton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Danny Calder saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, Ajax Fans Club's Danny Calder threw himself towards the right post 31 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Francis Ellerton, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Danny Calder made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jeff Draper in the 33rd minute. Danny Calder made a fantastic save in the 41st minute, when Jeff Draper sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Kevin Mabbutt during the 42nd minute.
