Seating: 1722, VIP seats: 149) Freddie Bullock hit a great freekick 3 minutes into the match. In the 8th minute, Glen Horner ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Giles Breckin was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Romeo Bullard showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Calum Mudd, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. Giles Breckin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daryl Power in the 15th minute of play. Daryl Power blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Giles Breckin having to make a save. In the 18th minute, Stew Blake hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 22 minutes, Glen Horner mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Crystal Palace City and the FC Royal Brigade players grew even worse after the yellow card. One of Crystal Palace City:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of FC Royal Brigade:s goal. After a defensive mix-up in Crystal Palace City's zone, Lance Townsend stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. FC Royal Brigade's Giles Breckin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daryl Power in the 34th minute of play. If Lance Townsend had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Calum Mudd to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Crystal Palace City's goal looked a bit too open when Lance Townsend came free, but Romeo Bullard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 75th minute, one of FC Royal Brigade:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for FC Royal Brigade. Gareth Ashton hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Glen Horner in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Giles Breckin saved FC Royal Brigade from getting behind. 91 minutes into the match, FC Royal Brigade's goal looked a bit too open when Glen Horner came free, but Giles Breckin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lance Townsend sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Crystal Palace City supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Crystal Palace City would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
