Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) After having played for 2 minutes, Stan Newbury managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Honiton's supporters crossed their fingers, but Stan Newbury was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Stan Newbury sent away a hard shot on goal in the 5th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 7th minute, Rex Wardle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 12 minutes into the match, Honiton's Stan Newbury sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kris Granville narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luke Horner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Francis Ellerton, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Dane Ellison fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kris Granville having to interfere. The supporters of Honiton booed when Ajax Fans Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pete Taggart didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Ajax Fans Club's Pete Taggart got a free kick in the 31st minute. With a little luck, Ajax Fans Club's Kris Granville got control of the ball when Stan Newbury tried to sneak it across the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fraser Robinson during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Ajax Fans Club getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Fraser Robinson hit a great ball. When Ajax Fans Club's Jeff Draper in the 38th minute got a chance for a shot 38th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Honiton's goalie prevented a goal. Kris Granville was a little too slow when Dane Ellison got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 40th minute. The score was now 1-0. Francis Ellerton recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dane Ellison stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Luke Horner was a little too slow when Jeff Draper got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 56th minute. The score was now 1-1. Stan Newbury recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Honiton's goalkeeper Luke Horner, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Kris Granville showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dane Ellison in the 68th minute of the match. In the 73rd minute Dane Ellison shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kris Granville saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 75 minutes into the match, Honiton's Dane Ellison sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kris Granville narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With his leg Luke Horner managed to avoid a goal in the 76thth minute, when Ajax Fans Club's Jeff Draper fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Jeff Draper kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 79thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Honiton's keeper Luke Horner was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Francis Ellerton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ajax Fans Club's Francis Ellerton got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 88th play minute Jeff Draper came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Luke Horner. 1-2. Jeff Draper was extremely unlucky when he, in the 91st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Honiton's goalkeeper Luke Horner, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Stan Newbury fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kris Granville having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Ajax Fans Club eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
