Romeo Bullard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dane Ellison, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Romeo Bullard stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Stan Newbury's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. Stan Newbury sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dane Ellison to make the kick off. In the 55th match minute, Crystal Palace City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ralph Henry to maneuver through the defense. In the 58th minute of the match Honiton got a corner.
