Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Rory Pilgrim made the kick off and thus started the match. Dean Toovey came out of the goal in the 3rd minute to try and stop a shot by Ajax Fans Club's Francis Ellerton. But to his dismay, Francis Ellerton quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Liam Freeman managed to get in a good position for a shot. Coventry United's supporters rose to their feet, but Liam Freeman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Kris Granville breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Steve Higginson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kris Granville having to interfere. Francis Ellerton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Dean Toovey tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 17 minutes into the match, Coventry United's Rory Pilgrim sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kris Granville narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 24th minute, Jeff Broadbent hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Ajax Fans Club's Pete Taggart got a free kick in the 26th minute. In the 28th minute, Jeff Draper got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Coventry United defense, Francis Ellerton kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dean Toovey. The Coventry United fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dean Toovey should have stopped the shot. Steve Higginson's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 39thth minute, Kris Granville skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 41st minute Rory Pilgrim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kris Granville saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 46 minutes, Jeff Draper managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ajax Fans Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jeff Draper was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The wind increased when Francis Ellerton made the kick off in the second half. Francis Ellerton sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Steve Higginson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Francis Ellerton in the 66th minute of play forced Coventry United's goalkeeper Dean Toovey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dean Toovey made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jeff Draper in the 72nd minute. After 75 played minutes Ajax Fans Club got a freekick which was hit by Jim Burns. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Coventry United's goalkeeper Dean Toovey, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Francis Ellerton's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dean Toovey read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. Coventry United's defense didn't have a chance, in the 87th minute, when Francis Ellerton scored to the left of an out of position Dean Toovey, making the score, 0-4. Rory Pilgrim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kris Granville having to interfere. 95 minutes into the match, Rory Pilgrim had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Kris Granville. Ajax Fans Club's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rory Pilgrim was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4.
