All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Peter Rice to make the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Stalowe United's zone, Jeffrey Gilroy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Aaron Lawless came out of the goal and Jeffrey Gilroy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Darren Fearns recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Cambridge City's attentive Nat Pollock managed to snatch the ball when Noel Gettins made a throw-in in the 83rd minute of the game. If Nat Pollock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 86 minutes into the match, Cambridge City's Peter Rice sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aaron Lawless narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Aaron Lawless took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Peter Rice, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 92 minutes of play, Cambridge City's Darren Fearns made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aaron Lawless was left in no man's land by his defense there! 95 minutes into the match, Stalowe United's goal looked a bit too open when Darren Fearns came free, but Aaron Lawless reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Craig Rundle hit a great freekick 96 minutes into the match.
