Paybridge Park

Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Andy Sands made the kick off which started today's match. Paybridge Celtic's Wesley Charles got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Wesley Charles received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Bruce Woodford tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bruce Woodford showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wesley Charles, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. In the 13th match minute, Paybridge Celtic was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugh Ellerby to maneuver through the defense. Bring Back Boris's Bruce Woodford played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Iain Steel in the 21st minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, Bring Back Boris's goalkeeper Bruce Woodford had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wesley Charles. Sebastien Story-Moore might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lewis Winstanley. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sebastien Story-Moore ran back to his position shaking his head. Roy Dwyer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Bruce Woodford tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Wesley Charles received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Bruce Woodford came out and tried to block the shot, but Wesley Charles slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 33rd minute. Bruce Woodford came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Paybridge Celtic's Iain Steel. But to his dismay, Iain Steel quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Andy Sands in the 41st minute of play forced Paybridge Celtic's goalkeeper Lewis Winstanley to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paybridge Celtic's Lewis Winstanley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Andy Sands in the 43rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Paybridge Celtic's Hugh Ellerby got a free kick in the 44th minute. 48 minutes into the match, Bring Back Boris's goal looked a bit too open when Iain Steel came free, but Bruce Woodford reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Wesley Charles made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Roy Dwyer got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Todd Woodhead might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Lewis Winstanley. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Todd Woodhead ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 57thth minute of the game Wesley Charles who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bring Back Boris's Bruce Woodford was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Iain Steel managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paybridge Celtic's supporters rose to their feet, but Iain Steel was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bruce Woodford breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Paybridge Celtic's Wesley Charles in the 63rd minute got a chance for a shot 63rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Bring Back Boris's goalie prevented a goal. Todd Woodhead hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. If Wesley Charles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Wesley Charles came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the Paybridge Celtic fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Wesley Charles couldn't finish the play. In the 69th minute, Rodd Mulligan made a precise shot to the right of Bruce Woodford. Bring Back Boris's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Hugh Ellerby struck a weak shot in the 79th minute. Bruce Woodford didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paybridge Celtic. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Wesley Charles managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paybridge Celtic's supporters rose to their feet, but Wesley Charles was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bruce Woodford breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lenny Wendon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bruce Woodford showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wesley Charles, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. If Wesley Charles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee ended the match the Paybridge Celtic players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
