Paybridge Park
Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000,
Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Fred Morgan kicked off to start the match. Wesley Charles let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 3rd minute shot 1-0 at rihgt post. In the last second Connor Wendon throw himself and got hold of the ball when Wesley Charles in the 8thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. After a rather tough play, Paybridge Celtic's Iain Steel got a free kick in the 12th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Wesley Charles kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Connor Wendon. That made the score 2-0 in the 14 minute of play. If Hugh Ellerby had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Connor Wendon stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wesley Charles's shot from short distance in the 20th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rodd Mulligan got free with Connor Wendon in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a defensive mix-up in Lytham City's zone, Hugh Ellerby stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Connor Wendon came out of the goal and Hugh Ellerby tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Wesley Charles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Roy Dwyer could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Connor Wendon made a huge save. Connor Wendon came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Paybridge Celtic's Roy Dwyer. But to his dismay, Roy Dwyer quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Hugh Ellerby sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rodd Mulligan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Connor Wendon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Iain Steel recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 48th minute, Wesley Charles reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Connor Wendon. The goal made the score 4-0.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wesley Charles to strike the kick off in the second half. Lytham City's Connor Wendon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Roy Dwyer in the 54th minute of play. The supporters of Paybridge Celtic booed when Lytham City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Terry Soussan didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Wesley Charles had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 58th match minute, Lytham City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Johnathon Rowling to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wesley Charles in the 62nd minute of play forced Lytham City's goalkeeper Connor Wendon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iain Steel fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Connor Wendon having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wesley Charles in the 65th minute of play forced Lytham City's goalkeeper Connor Wendon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpected shot in the 66th minute by Fred Morgan got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Kris Shipperley lost his temper 68 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. 68 minutes into the game, one of Paybridge Celtic:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 71 minutes, Lytham City's Jason Pearson got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Lewis Winstanley. 73 minutes into the game, Camron Maylett was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Paybridge Celtic's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lytham City the free kick. A collision led to Paybridge Celtic getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Camron Maylett hit a great ball. In the 76th minute, Iain Steel made a precise shot to the right of Connor Wendon. Lytham City's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-1. Paybridge Celtic's Loyd Boston couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 79th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Lytham City. Connor Wendon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Loyd Boston in the 81st minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Lytham City's zone, Camron Maylett stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Connor Wendon came out of the goal and Camron Maylett tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gwyn Heslop hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Roy Dwyer managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paybridge Celtic's supporters rose to their feet, but Roy Dwyer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Connor Wendon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Roy Dwyer scored 6-1 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Connor Wendon, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Iain Steel blasted a shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Connor Wendon having to make a save. If Iain Steel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Camron Maylett came up free with the goalie in the 100th minute, the Paybridge Celtic fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Camron Maylett couldn't finish the play. When the referee ended the match the Paybridge Celtic players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
