In the 3rd minute, Sly Cookson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Sidney Blackburn hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Johnnie Howard fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zaq Soares having to interfere. In the 12th match minute, Felixstowe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sean Bateson to maneuver through the defense. Trevor Blackburn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sean Bateson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 22 minutes into the match, Felixstowe's Teddy Crowther sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Trevor Blackburn narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Zaq Soares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Johnnie Howard in the 25th minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, Felixstowe's goalkeeper Zaq Soares had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lance Apsden. Johnnie Howard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lance Apsden's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zaq Soares read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 30th minute of play. The supporters of Telford booed when Felixstowe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chaz Crossley didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 38th minute, Lance Apsden fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Johnnie Howard received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Zaq Soares came out and tried to block the shot, but Johnnie Howard slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 39th minute. In the 47th minute the ball was on its way in behind Telford's goalkeeper Trevor Blackburn, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Sean Bateson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 48th minute. Trevor Blackburn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

A hard shot 53 in the game by Teddy Crowther from a close distance when the talented Trevor Blackburn managed to make a qualified save. Telford's players were relieved. Teddy Crowther received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Trevor Blackburn came out and tried to block the shot, but Teddy Crowther slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 58th minute. After 64 played minutes Felixstowe got a freekick which was hit by Sebastian Wallbank. In the 65th minute Lance Apsden shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zaq Soares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Teddy Crowther had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 70 minutes, Sly Cookson managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Felixstowe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sly Cookson was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Johnnie Howard had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zaq Soares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lance Apsden, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 77th minute, Johnnie Howard made a precise shot to the right of Zaq Soares. Felixstowe's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. If Lance Apsden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Felixstowe's Zaq Soares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Johnnie Howard in the 87th minute of play. In the 90th minute, Sean Bateson reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Trevor Blackburn. The goal made the score 2-2. In the 95th minute, Walter Brazier hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Telford succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Felixstowe had controlled the match.
