Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Colin Budge made the kick off and thus started the match. Tom Mason recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 3rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Zak Jones had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Colin Budge managed to get in a good position for a shot. LIVERPOOL FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Colin Budge was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vic Morgan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Colin Budge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tom Mason struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Vic Morgan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for LIVERPOOL FC. After having played for 23 minutes, Quentin Ellis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. southport fc's supporters crossed their fingers, but Quentin Ellis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 25 minutes into the match, southport fc's Alfie Basham broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Quentin Ellis's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kyle Barraclough read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. If Zak Jones had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kyle Barraclough showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Quentin Ellis, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Quentin Ellis struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Kyle Barraclough didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for southport fc. In the 38th minute, Quentin Ellis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Kyle Barraclough was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. southport fc were furious when James Folan was red carded, 42 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 41st minute, one of southport fc:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for southport fc. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zak Jones in the 48th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Kyle Barraclough saved LIVERPOOL FC from getting behind. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
The crowd rose to their feet as southport fc's Rueben Niven slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Kyle Barraclough. That made the score 1-2 after 52 minutes of play. Cody Medley's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Kyle Barraclough read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. In the 62nd minute, Tom Mason ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vic Morgan was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Cody Medley sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 71st minute, Rueben Niven got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 72nd match minute, LIVERPOOL FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Frank Goldsmith to maneuver through the defense. If Zak Jones had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 82 minutes into the match, Cody Medley dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Kyle Barraclough, 2-3. Stephen Peake recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 89th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Colin Budge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
