Spectators: 6637 (Terracing: 4900, Seating: 1736, VIP seats: 1) Boston Red Sox's Kris Nicholson started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 10th minute, Philip Smith hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pete McDermot took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ashley Froggatt. Ashley Froggatt dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. In the 15th minute Pete McDermot shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ashley Froggatt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ashley Froggatt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pete McDermot in the 17th minute of play. Ashley Froggatt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kris Nicholson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 35 minutes, Cliff Blueman managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ossani FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cliff Blueman was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kris Nicholson in the 37th minute of play forced Ossani FC's goalkeeper Ashley Froggatt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 40 minutes into the match, Ossani FC's goal looked a bit too open when Kris Nicholson came free, but Ashley Froggatt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pete McDermot took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ashley Froggatt. Ashley Froggatt dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. 47 minutes into the match, Ossani FC's goal looked a bit too open when Micheal Shuttleworth came free, but Ashley Froggatt reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After the first half Boston Red Sox were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cliff Blueman was the one to do the kick off. Ashley Froggatt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Micheal Shuttleworth in the 54th minute. Ashley Froggatt made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pete McDermot in the 56th minute. Ashley Froggatt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kris Nicholson in the 63rd minute of the match. After 66 played minutes Ossani FC got a freekick which was hit by Philip Smith. 68 minutes into the match, Pete McDermot had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ashley Froggatt. Ossani FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Pete McDermot was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. Kris Nicholson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 71st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 72nd minute, Pete McDermot left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Boston Red Sox fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. 79 minutes into the match, Boston Red Sox's Pete McDermot sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ashley Froggatt narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Boston Red Sox booed when Ossani FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alastair Millman didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 85th minute Kris Nicholson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ashley Froggatt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 87 minutes into the match, Pete McDermot notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of Ossani FC's Ashley Froggatt. Ashley Froggatt was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ashley Froggatt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kris Nicholson in the 90th minute of play. When the match was over Boston Red Sox could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Ossani FC throughout the match.
