If Cliff Blueman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Ossani FC defense, CJ Etherington kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ashley Froggatt. The Ossani FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ashley Froggatt should have stopped the shot. Marty Crowther charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marty Crowther the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Ossani FC booed when FC Spalding Panthers was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marty Crowther didn't get a good kick on the ball. Henry Cheetham fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Felix Rushforth having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alastair Millman during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 33 minutes of play, FC Spalding Panthers's CJ Etherington made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Felix Rushforth didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ossani FC. After 44 played minutes Ossani FC got a freekick which was hit by Cliff Blueman. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and CJ Etherington made a kick off. If Zaq Dodgson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 76th match minute, FC Spalding Panthers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Freddy Vassell to maneuver through the defense. Zaq Dodgson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 77th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Zaq Dodgson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Felix Rushforth tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Chris Lister kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. After 84 minutes of play Ossani FC's Alastair Millman was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 85 played minutes Ossani FC got a freekick which was hit by Alastair Millman. Marty Crowther's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ashley Froggatt read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. When Stewart Bannatyne fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ossani FC's protests and gave Stewart Bannatyne a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of FC Spalding Panthers booed when Ossani FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 92 match minutes in a wonderful position. Stewart Bannatyne didn't get a good kick on the ball.
