Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Tom Prendergast got the match started through his kick off. Tom Prendergast received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Brian Greenfield tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Brandon Trunks's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Brian Greenfield read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 6th minute of play. Chaz Rockey kicked well hit freekick during the 6th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 7th minute, Tom Prendergast managed to get in a good position for a shot. Welford's supporters rose to their feet, but Tom Prendergast was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brian Greenfield breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tom Prendergast received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Brandon Trunks took the ball and in the 17 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Brian Greenfield. Brian Greenfield dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Brian Greenfield made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tom Prendergast in the 21st minute of play. If Guy Philips had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Welford's zone, Shane Henwood stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Scott Peyton came out of the goal and Shane Henwood tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to London Colney getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Chaz Rockey hit a great ball. Brian Greenfield was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Clive Bowden. If Tom Prendergast had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Harry Everard's late challenge caught a Welford's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Harry Everard helped the player get up and apologised. After 39 played minutes Brandon Trunks rounded London Colney's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-1. The supporters of Welford booed when London Colney was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harry Everard didn't get a good kick on the ball. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Guy Philips was the one to do the kick off. The supporters of Welford booed when London Colney was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 55 match minutes in a wonderful position. Piers Lock didn't get a good kick on the ball. Steve Radcliffe kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. The supporters of London Colney booed when Welford was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jeff Blackhurst didn't get a good kick on the ball. London Colney's Mick Dransfield couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Welford. Tom Prendergast sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thom Townson kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Brandon Trunks in the 79th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Brian Greenfield prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Tom Prendergast had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Brian Greenfield took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tom Prendergast, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tom Prendergast fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brian Greenfield having to interfere. 88 minutes into the match, London Colney's goal looked a bit too open when Brandon Trunks came free, but Brian Greenfield reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 91 minutes, Brandon Trunks managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Welford's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brandon Trunks was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 93 minutes, Rich Beadle mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Welford and the London Colney players grew even worse after the yellow card. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Welford fully deserved thier win.
