Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Sly Neville got the match started through his kick off. Junior Chiverton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfie Sutherland in the 8th minute of play. With his leg Junior Chiverton managed to avoid a goal in the 11thth minute, when Welford's Brandon Trunks fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Junior Chiverton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tom Prendergast, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ivan Wallbank received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Scott Peyton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rich Beadle in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Junior Chiverton saved FYR of Slough from getting behind. After a rather tough play, FYR of Slough's Graeme Sharples got a free kick in the 17th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Liam Curtis during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 26th minute, Thom Townson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 31 minutes into the match, FYR of Slough's goal looked a bit too open when Tom Prendergast came free, but Junior Chiverton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 34th minute Tom Prendergast shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Junior Chiverton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With his leg Junior Chiverton managed to avoid a goal in the 36thth minute, when Welford's Brandon Trunks fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Brandon Trunks managed to get in a good position for a shot. Welford's supporters rose to their feet, but Brandon Trunks was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Junior Chiverton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. FYR of Slough's defense didn't have a chance, in the 43rd minute, when Tom Prendergast scored to the left of an out of position Junior Chiverton, making the score, 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tom Prendergast stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st match minute, FYR of Slough was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Des Lilley to maneuver through the defense. 52 minutes into the match, Tom Prendergast had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Junior Chiverton. FYR of Slough's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tom Prendergast was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Sly Neville received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Scott Peyton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 61 minutes into the match, FYR of Slough's goal looked a bit too open when Tom Prendergast came free, but Junior Chiverton reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Junior Chiverton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jeff Blackhurst, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Ivan Wallbank fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Scott Peyton having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Welford's Pedro Allanson got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Brandon Trunks recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 81st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Syd Corbridge fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Scott Peyton having to interfere. Tom Prendergast fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Junior Chiverton having to interfere. There was no doubt that Welford were the better team. Welford's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
