Kyle Colley took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 15th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Junior Chiverton. FYR of Slough's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Ivan Wallbank could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 19th minute of the match, but Simon Bilton made a huge save. Junior Chiverton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dominik Foggarty, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. After some careless play in the FYR of Slough defense, Dominik Foggarty kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Junior Chiverton. The FYR of Slough fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Junior Chiverton should have stopped the shot. Junior Chiverton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lance Lambourne, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 32nd minute, Liam Curtis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dominik Foggarty received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Junior Chiverton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Dominik Foggarty came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Rapid Bucharest fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dominik Foggarty couldn't finish the play. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Dominik Foggarty to make the kick off. The Rapid Bucharest fans' excitement grew in the 57th match minute when Rapid Bucharest's Lance Lambourne looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Dylon Millman's late challenge caught a FYR of Slough's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dylon Millman helped the player get up and apologised. Simon Bilton went to the wrong direction when Allan Gough was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Rapid Bucharest's zone, Sly Neville stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Simon Bilton came out of the goal and Sly Neville tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Lance Lambourne could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 70th minute of the match, but Junior Chiverton made a huge save. When the match had gone on for 72 minutes, Dominik Foggarty put it in 1-3 from a short distance just to the right of Junior Chiverton. Rapid Bucharest's Victor Hallam pulled a muscle in his leg after 76 minutes and couldn't finish the game. When Liam Curtis fell near the penalty area in the 76th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FYR of Slough's protests and gave Liam Curtis a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, FYR of Slough's Liam Curtis got a free kick in the 77th minute. 79 minutes into the match, FYR of Slough's goalkeeper Junior Chiverton had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lance Lambourne. After a defensive mix-up in FYR of Slough's zone, Dominik Foggarty stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Junior Chiverton came out of the goal and Dominik Foggarty tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lance Lambourne got free with Junior Chiverton in the 88th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dominik Foggarty hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Lance Lambourne came free with the goalkeeper in the 95th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Junior Chiverton could save by the left post. After having played for 97 minutes, Lance Lambourne managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rapid Bucharest's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lance Lambourne was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The FYR of Slough fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Rapid Bucharest were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
