Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Zack Henwood made the kick off which started today's match. Neil Thomson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wesley Renwick in the 5th minute of the match. Neil Thomson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sidney Knowles in the 8th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wesley Renwick in the 11th minute of play forced Hayling Island FC's goalkeeper Neil Thomson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 19th match minute, Hayling Island FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Blair Fawell to maneuver through the defense. Gus Pell missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 20 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Neil Thomson right hand side. The supporters of Newhaven FC booed when Hayling Island FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brynn Constantine didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 25th minute, Aaron Bowler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gus Pell took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 26th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Neil Thomson. Hayling Island FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After 28 played minutes Newhaven FC got a freekick which was hit by Jasper Myers. After a rather tough play, Hayling Island FC's Gwyn Beardsley got a free kick in the 30th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Hayling Island FC's zone, Wesley Renwick stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Neil Thomson came out of the goal and Wesley Renwick tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 32nd minute, Brynn Constantine hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Neil Thomson came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by Newhaven FC's Wesley Renwick. But to his dismay, Wesley Renwick quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Neil Thomson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Wesley Renwick's shot from short distance in the 43rd minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Wesley Renwick to strike the kick off in the second half. Rod Elding hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. Gwyn Beardsley kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Newhaven FC's Sidney Knowles was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 58th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. If Wesley Renwick had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Zack Henwood in the 64th minute of play forced Newhaven FC's goalkeeper Todd Mayfield to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sidney Knowles fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Neil Thomson having to interfere. Sidney Knowles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Neil Thomson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wesley Renwick in the 72nd minute of the match. In the 75th minute, Rod Elding hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After recieving a nice pass, Hayling Island FC's Billy MacDonald tried to score from far away in the 76th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Sidney Knowles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Hayling Island FC's Neil Thomson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save Hayling Island FC from getting a goal against them. Rod Elding struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Neil Thomson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Newhaven FC. Sidney Knowles could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Neil Thomson made a huge save. After 94 played minutes Hayling Island FC got a freekick which was hit by Brynn Constantine.
