David Groves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kieran Cahill in the 36th minute of the match. Vinnie Selby fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Groves having to interfere. After having played for 43 minutes, Kieran Cahill managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Prescot's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kieran Cahill was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 47 minutes into the game, Prescot's Will Beevers nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. David Groves made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kieran Cahill was the one to do the kick off. David Groves didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 58th minute, which inside left pole to 0-3. David Groves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kieran Cahill, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 63 played minutes Folkestone City got a freekick which was hit by Tim Jump. Prescot's Vinnie Selby got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Kieran Cahill in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck David Groves prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Folkestone City's David Groves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 71st minute of the match, managed to save Folkestone City from getting a goal against them. David Groves made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kieran Cahill in the 74th minute of play. Vinnie Selby fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without David Groves having to interfere. Kieran Cahill might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over David Groves. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kieran Cahill ran back to his position shaking his head. Dean Titmus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donny Haper in the 80th minute of play. Tim Jump's late challenge caught a Prescot's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Tim Jump helped the player get up and apologised. Tim Jump kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Vinnie Selby was extremely unlucky when he, in the 84th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. An unexpectedly hard shot by Kieran Cahill in the 85th minute of play forced Folkestone City's goalkeeper David Groves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kieran Cahill sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Kieran Cahill was extremely unlucky when he, in the 93rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The crowd rose to their feet as Vinnie Selby kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving David Groves. That made the score 0-4 in the 96 minute of play.
