Calvin Wardill sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 27 played minutes Burnham on Sea got a freekick which was hit by Kevin Maylett. In the 30th minute Mark Hollingsworth shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronnie Deveraux saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ronnie Deveraux showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Calvin Clist, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. The audience was convinced that Calvin Clist's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ronnie Deveraux was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. If Calvin Clist had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 79 minutes into the match, Timperley's goalkeeper Ronnie Deveraux had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mark Hollingsworth. Mark Hollingsworth fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronnie Deveraux having to interfere. Ronnie Deveraux made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Mark Hollingsworth sent off a good shot on target. Ronnie Deveraux was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Calvin Clist showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-4 in the 86 minute of play. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind Burnham on Sea's goalkeeper Jay Smith, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 95th minute of the match Ken Crooks shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ronnie Deveraux showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Mark Hollingsworth managed to get in a good position for a shot. Burnham on Sea's supporters rose to their feet, but Mark Hollingsworth was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ronnie Deveraux breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
