Ronnie Deveraux showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vinnie Selby, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. When Kieran Cahill came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Prescot fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kieran Cahill couldn't finish the play. Kieran Cahill might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ronnie Deveraux. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kieran Cahill ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 69th minute, Rhys Hicks hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ronnie Deveraux made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kieran Cahill in the 70th minute of play. 74 minutes into the match, Prescot's goal looked a bit too open when Calvin Wardill came free, but Dean Titmus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 75th minute, Calvin Wardill managed to get in a good position for a shot. Timperley's supporters rose to their feet, but Calvin Wardill was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dean Titmus breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
