David Groves stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Calvin Clist's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Folkestone City's zone, Mark Hollingsworth stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David Groves came out of the goal and Mark Hollingsworth tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Calvin Clist made the kick off in the second half. With an all-out effort, Burnham on Sea's David Groves threw himself towards the right post 52 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Johnathon Sullivan, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After a defensive mix-up in Folkestone City's zone, Mark Hollingsworth stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. David Groves came out of the goal and Mark Hollingsworth tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A wasted opportunity for Burnham on Sea. 96 minutes into the match, Folkestone City's goalkeeper David Groves had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mark Hollingsworth.
