Perry Laycock fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 12th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rhys Brearley having to interfere. Denny Lester hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Lavendon City's zone, Sam Barrett stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. After having played for 34 minutes, Sam Barrett managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bootle United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sam Barrett was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Sam Bond fell near the penalty area in the 38th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lavendon City's protests and gave Sam Bond a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Bootle United booed when Lavendon City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sam Bond didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Sam Barrett had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Kristopher Chilton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sam Barrett in the 53rd minute of the match. If Perry Laycock had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rhys Brearley showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guy Gunn in the 61st minute of the match. Perry Laycock recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Guy Gunn in the 80th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rhys Brearley prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Perry Laycock in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rhys Brearley saved Bootle United from getting behind. During the 93rd minute of the match Benjamin Hughes completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Benjamin Hughes a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. In the 94th minute, Benjamin Hughes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bootle United's Rhys Brearley played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guy Gunn in the 95th minute of play.
