Spectators: 7582 (Terracing: 5687, Seating: 1744, VIP seats: 151) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Theo Marriott got the match started through his kick off. Devon Warrender showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guy Gunn, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. Perry Laycock sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 9th minute Perry Laycock shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Devon Warrender saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Lance Marston fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wanlip Knights's protests and gave Lance Marston a yellow card for diving instead. Lance Marston kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Wanlip Knights defense, Guy Gunn kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Devon Warrender. The Wanlip Knights fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Devon Warrender should have stopped the shot. The Lavendon City fans' excitement grew in the 17th match minute when Lavendon City's Guy Gunn looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Perry Laycock struck a weak shot in the 24th minute. Devon Warrender didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lavendon City. After a rather tough play, Wanlip Knights's Lance Marston got a free kick in the 26th minute. In the 29thth minute of the game Guy Gunn who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Wanlip Knights's Devon Warrender was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Wanlip Knights's zone, Guy Gunn stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Devon Warrender came out of the goal and Guy Gunn tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Guy Gunn recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Devon Warrender showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Guy Gunn, who was totally free with the ball in the 43rd minute. The supporters of Lavendon City booed when Wanlip Knights was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Trevor Darby didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Guy Gunn made a kick off. When Craig Cole fell near the penalty area in the 52nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lavendon City's protests and gave Craig Cole a yellow card for diving instead. A hard shot 55 in the game by Guy Gunn from a close distance when the talented Devon Warrender managed to make a qualified save. Wanlip Knights's players were relieved. After 56 played minutes Lavendon City got a freekick which was hit by Perry Laycock. 59 minutes into the game, Perry Laycock recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Devon Warrender. Perry Laycock showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-4. In the 64th minute Sam Haugue shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Kristopher Chilton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Theo Marriott hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. In the 67th minute, Lavendon City's Perry Laycock ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Devon Warrender. Devon Warrender yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-5. Perry Laycock fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Devon Warrender having to interfere. A collision led to Wanlip Knights getting a freekick after 74 minutes play. Trevor Darby hit a great ball. Guy Gunn's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 82ndth minute, Devon Warrender skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Devon Warrender was out of position in the 84 minute of play, and Perry Laycock capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Perry Laycock really showed his touch with that goal: 0-6. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Perry Laycock in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Devon Warrender saved Wanlip Knights from getting behind. Guy Gunn's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Devon Warrender read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. Wanlip Knights's Devon Warrender played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Perry Laycock in the 93rd minute of play. Guy Gunn might have been able to make a better finish in the 97th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Devon Warrender. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Guy Gunn ran back to his position shaking his head. Perry Laycock had several of the Wanlip Knights's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 97 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-7 score and a disappointed Devon Warrender as he didn't even see the shot coming. Lavendon City's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
