Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Wanlip Knights's Theo Marriott started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After some fancy dribbling in the 3rd minute, Garry Blake managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sandbach FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Garry Blake was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Devon Warrender breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 10th match minute, Sandbach FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Denis Eslworth to maneuver through the defense. Wanlip Knights's Sam Haugue got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Theo Marriott fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Barrie Boatman having to interfere. After 22 minutes, Joe Goodall mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sandbach FC and the Wanlip Knights players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 23 played minutes Sandbach FC got a freekick which was hit by Joe Goodall. In the 28th minute Eddie Nelson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Devon Warrender saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 31st minute, Sandbach FC's Eddie Nelson ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Devon Warrender. Devon Warrender yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. 39 minutes into the match, Theo Marriott had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Barrie Boatman. Sandbach FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Theo Marriott was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Eddie Nelson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 44 minutes into the match, Eddie Nelson dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Devon Warrender, 2-1.

If Sam Haugue had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 54th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eddie Nelson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Devon Warrender having to interfere. Eddie Nelson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Devon Warrender read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. In the 62nd minute Garry Blake shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Devon Warrender saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Wanlip Knights defense, Eddie Nelson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Devon Warrender. The Wanlip Knights fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Devon Warrender should have stopped the shot. Eddie Nelson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Devon Warrender having to interfere. 73 minutes into the match, Wanlip Knights's goal looked a bit too open when Eddie Nelson came free, but Devon Warrender reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 75th minute, Garry Blake made a precise shot to the right of Devon Warrender. Wanlip Knights's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. Garry Blake fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Devon Warrender having to interfere. After having played for 89 minutes, Garry Blake managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sandbach FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Garry Blake was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 90 played minutes Wanlip Knights got a freekick which was hit by Jimmy Sykes. Sam Haugue struck a weak shot in the 92nd minute. Barrie Boatman didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Wanlip Knights. Lance Marston's late challenge caught a Sandbach FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lance Marston helped the player get up and apologised. After 96 played minutes Wanlip Knights got a freekick which was hit by Lance Marston. Sandbach FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
