If Ian Rothery had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Crispin Bird hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Ian Mason showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Kristopher Bodsworth, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Drew Gascoigne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ian Mason having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Kristopher Bodsworth managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ingatestone's supporters rose to their feet, but Kristopher Bodsworth was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ian Mason breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ingatestone's Tosh Ashton got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. F.c. Talent!'s Ian Mason played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Drew Gascoigne in the 21st minute of play. Ingatestone's Kristopher Bodsworth got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to F.c. Talent! getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Howard Kempson hit a great ball. Drew Gascoigne recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Kristopher Bodsworth sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind F.c. Talent!'s goalkeeper Ian Mason, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Danny Canning kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. Ian Mason stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kristopher Bodsworth's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. If Kristopher Bodsworth had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ian Mason took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tosh Ashton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Talent!'s goalkeeper Ian Mason had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kristopher Bodsworth. Danny Canning's late challenge caught a Ingatestone's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Danny Canning helped the player get up and apologised. Danny Canning kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in F.c. Talent!'s zone, Ian Rothery stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ian Mason came out of the goal and Ian Rothery tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Howard Kempson during the 75th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 75 played minutes F.c. Talent! got a freekick which was hit by Howard Kempson. If Tosh Ashton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 80 minutes of play F.c. Talent!'s Howard Kempson was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 81 played minutes F.c. Talent! got a freekick which was hit by Howard Kempson. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Kristopher Bodsworth managed to get in a good position for a shot.
